PhD in Space Laser Communications

Hi! Iā€™m a PhD student with a focus on Space-Ground Laser Communications. I earned my MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in London before moving to Nottingham. I led projects at the Rutherford-Appleton Laboratory where I designed automated and experimental systems for high-energy lasers at the Central Laser Facility. I also worked as a research assistant at the Ion Trap Quantum Computing Group at Oxford. My MEng dissertation project was about designing an optical pressure sensor in collaboration with City University of London and Sydney Water. I enjoy system design and I'm passionate about space, science communication, and sustainability.

I like cycling, tending to my plants, and playing video games. Come say hi through my accounts @beamingViviene on Instagram and Twitter!
