Rebecca Dewey
Senior Research Fellow @ University of Nottingham
Rebecca Dewey is a physicist with a background in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). She’s spent the last decade working in hearing science using MRI to detect smaller and smaller changes in human physiology that are associated with hearing loss, noise exposure, tinnitus, balance disorders, and aging. Rebecca has initiated several research projects around improving the use of MRI in people who use active auditory prostheses, such as cochlear implants. In her spare time, Rebecca organises public engagement events to encourage school-aged students and their families to embrace their own scientific destiny with a view to ultimately improving the diversity of those who engage with science, and collaborates through AuthorAid to improve the impact of scientific publishing from low income countries.
