Phil Mackereth

Project Lead @ Exobotics

Phil has wide ranging interests across engineering, maths, and the natural sciences. At present he works for a space-sector start-up, Exobotics, developing software and control systems for flight components and ground based support equipment.

Prior to Exobotics, Phil worked for 9 years in structural engineering consultancy where he designed new bridge and marine structures, and carried out complex analyses of some of our major historic structures to ensure they remain safe for public use. A few projects he has been involved with include Orwell Bridge, Hammersmith Flyover renovation, major new road bridges in central London, and marine structures in Morocco. He has also has extensive experience in the project management aspects of civil engineering consultancy projects.

Phil has many research interests and projects ranging from geophysics to photonics, and has collaborated on a number of papers. He is also currently developing a new structural engineering analysis software package.

When he is not busy perfecting engineering solutions, Phil can usually be found either trail running, rock climbing, or playing classical piano.
