Optical engineering underlies the technology of modern life and provides solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges. From the laser used in making your smartphone to the satellites used for imaging forest fires, optics are key.

The Lumen Lab explores applications of optical engineering to areas including 3D displays, manufacturing, medicine and space.
